I just discovered that my cloud backup service, CrashPlan by Code42, is now using Facebook, Google, et al cross-site tracking cookies on their customer support portal. I have these blocked so now I am unable to use their support website until I allow cross-site trackig in Safari.
I complained to customer support who could not offer an alternative support request process.
What good reason do Code42 have for tracking customers in this way? How does this enable the customer?
I have informed them that when the subscription expires I will not be reviewing the service against competitors. This spying really bothers me.
